Employers have the option to receive their income withholding order notices electronically. Receiving income withholding orders electronically reduces processing time and eliminates paper copies. Employers who choose electronic processing will receive an email notification when a file is created and available for retrieval (download). The file will include income withholding information in one of three formats: a PDF image of the income withholding order, flat data file, or XML data file; all formats can be saved to the employer’s hard drive for future record.
To take advantage of electronic processing, register on the Texas Employer Website to set up an online user account and make sure you have one of the following user roles: payroll reporting only, medical and payroll reporting or security contact.
Start on the Employer home page, click Request New Account in the left navigation panel, and follow the instructions.
Once you have your online account, log on and select Delivery Options in the left navigation panel to sign up for the service. (Instructions for Retrieving Order/Notices)
When the file is generated, you will receive an email notification stating a file is available for download. The file will be produced in one convenient zipped file available for downloading.
After activating the electronic process, if a file is not downloaded (retrieved) within two business days, the paper order/notice will be delivered through the U S Postal Service.
